Travel Agency and Non-Profit Organization Come Together to Help Children in Need

Upon realizing they did not have enough toys for the children on their upcoming medical mission to Guatemala, local Burbank, CA non-profit Mending Kids International (MKI) enlisted the help of long-time partner Montrose Travel. In just a couple of days, Montrose Travel was able to collect multiple bags of children’s toys and stuffed animals through the added support and team effort of their employees, families and friends. Spearheading the toy drive was Montrose Travel’s Corporate Services division headed by Aash Shravah, Director of Corporate Sales, who described the entire effort as “a feel-good story.”

Over the past five years, Montrose Travel and MKI have developed a strong partnership far exceeding the typical client-agency relationship. Not only does Montrose Travel assist with MKI’s travel needs as their travel management company, but they also work to maintain a relationship outside of standard travel bookings. Montrose Travel Corporate Services proudly supports and stays actively involved with MKI by attending and sometimes sponsoring their annual events and fundraisers, and by volunteering at their local missions whenever possible.

“We can't express our gratitude enough for you to all rally together that quickly to make the lives of these children that much better” MKI posted on their Facebook page. “To these children, these are not just toys, these are tokens of a healthy future, these provide comfort and most of all, they show them that people in this world truly care about them and their well-being. So thank you, Montrose Travel, and every staff member that contributed!”

Furthering MKI’s sentiment, Aash stated “We like to build close connections with those we work with so they know they can come to us in a time of need whether or not travel is necessary. This glimpse into the relationship Montrose Travel and MKI have exemplifies the type of relationship we aim for. We are truly honored to work with and have the opportunity to support an incredible organization like MKI.”
