Blue Mountain Begins Snowmaking this Friday in Anticipation of Cold Temperatures
Palmerton, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) November 13, 2014 -- Blue Mountain is expected to complete a full test of its advanced snowmaking system this Friday, November 14. Temperatures will begin settling into the low twenties at night, creating an ideal snowmaking environment at Blue Mountain. Guns are projected to begin dusting trails on Blue Mountain as early as Friday night (temperatures permitting.)
As the region’s leader in snowmaking, Blue Mountain has invested in snowmaking capacity, efficiency, and automation for the last 19 consecutive years. Over half of Blue Mountain’s acreage is now fully automated with the industry’s latest equipment and software along with their entire water pumping system. This summer, Blue Mountain added six new snowmaking pumps increasing their output to an impressive 14,000 gallons/minute. Impressive water capacity coupled with 55,000 cfm of snowmaking air and the latest automation technology is sure to make this winter at Blue Mountain the best yet.
Blue Mountain has not yet set an opening date, but once the temperatures are consistently between 24-28 degrees, guns will be cranked at full capacity. Opening day will be announced on skibluemt.com and Blue Mountain’s social media channels to alert guests and Season Pass holders to gear up and hit the slopes!
Those that are just as excited as Blue Mountain to start making snow are encouraged to take advantage of the pre-season discount and purchase their Season Pass before November 15, 2014 to save, go direct-to-slope and ski or ride all season long!
