We’re not about disposable fashion.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 18, 2014
Having successfully funded his Kickstarter campaign six months ago, Lachlan MacKenzie has just launched Mortaltrend.com with five pieces for men. The clothing is manufactured in downtown Los Angeles out of cotton milled in the United States. It is currently available online and will soon be available in selected boutiques.
MacKenzie, who grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, designs clothes that reflect both his love of classic lines and the relaxed lifestyle he found when he moved to Southern California. “As a young man, I started using my mother’s sewing machine and altered a pair of jeans and I think that’s when I knew I wanted to design clothes. I want Mortal Trend designs to be reminiscent of the classics, but comfortable to wear and with a detail or two that makes them unique. Classic doesn’t have to be boring.”
MacKenzie is also committed to being a part of Los Angeles’ resurgence in clothing manufacturing. “It was never the plan to make our clothing overseas,” he says. “We’re not about disposable fashion. We want to send the message that clothes should be made to last and that making them here, in the U.S., is a great thing.”
