The quality of the finishes throughout the home and the application of all materials were first class. The transitions between finishes were perfectly achieved and the attending to detail shown by all trades is outstanding

The dream was to build a custom contemporary family home whilst creating a harmonious bond between technology and the home's coastal environment. With Bold Park only four houses away and breathtaking Rottnest and ocean views, this home needed to complement its surrounds with three elevations required on the corner block location as well as abound in the progressive technology options that are expected in a modern home of this stature.
Beyond the prestige builder Giorgi Exclusive Homes' ability to construct a high spec home and interpret the Owners vision, this project also very much represented the Buzzas' direct input.
Specifically, given Nathan Buzza’s 25 years in the technology field and numerous accolades notably including Entrepreneur of the Year and Hall of Fame WAITTA honour, he had the necessary and specific intellectual license to spearhead a new approach to home intelligence. Through his direction, this project allowed for the extensive deployment of building automation throughout the home in a way that challenged standard industry concepts, and introduced technology solutions that were not only remarkably effective but just as impressively financially sound.
These technology solutions included an intelligent building automation system and voice grade WiFi network which integrated the security system, motorised blinds, garage door, front door key pad entry and intercom. Additionally, architecturally integrated iPads in several rooms in the home provided not only access to controls for this home automation but also a permanently online Siri which enables the Buzzas to access entertainment and information with ease. How convenient to be able to ask for a recipe whilst about to prepare a meal for the family, hands free and without leaving the kitchen. The entire home automation system being accessed via these iPads as well as the owners mobile devices ensures a convenience and freedom that is still rarely found in most new prestige homes today.
Another unique tech feature are the seven robots throughout the home, the Buzzas' favourite is the Husquvarna automated lawn mower which has an integrated global positioning system and which can be activated and controlled through the Buzzas' iPhones. The Husquvarna has been the “talk of the town” with those passing by often stopping to ask about the machine and even filming it in action with their mobile phones!
Beyond the technology aspects of the house there were also numerous unique features which the owners were the driving force behind and again this led to the home being a stand out in the HIA judging. Particularly features such as privacy film on the balcony – a polarisation product that allows for views to be maintained whilst still maintaining neighbours privacy. Use of their own designs for the home office custom wood furniture and cabinetry built into the roof recess to maximise storage space whilst minimalizing impact on internal living areas ultimately set the home in a class of its own.
As stated in The Weekend West and further by the Judges, this award winning home is simply, “The zenith of modern lifestyle” and “… a fantastic example of the quality of construction and design excellence which can be achieved at this significant price point.”
