DeviceTalks, a live interview series featuring thought leaders from the $126B medical technology industry, closes out its 2014 season Nov. 19 in Irvine, Calif., with a candid conversation on whether the medical device industry is doing enough to protect patients.

DeviceTalks West welcomes the CEOs of B.Braun Medical and Masimo Nov. 19 for a wide-ranging discussion on the future of medtech innovation and how the medical device industry can make more of an impact on patients safety.

Formerly known as the Big 100, DeviceTalks is a live event held annually in Boston, Orange County and the Twin Cities. DeviceTalks is hosted by MassDevice.com, the online journal of record for the medical device industry, which provides hour-to-hour coverage of the devices that save lives, the people behind them and burgeoning trends and developments within the industry.

In its first full season, DeviceTalks welcomed more than 600 senior leaders from Alphaeon, 3M, B.Braun Medical, Covidien, Haemonetics, Kip’s Bay Medical, Masimo, Medtronic and St. Jude Medical as well as innovators from the next wave of cutting edge companies such as 480 Biomedical, Arsenal Medical, BIOM, CVRx and MC10.

“Our 2014 series focused on the future of healthcare innovation post healthcare reform “ MassDevice.com publisher Brian Johnson said. “We explored how the U.S. government’s focus on ‘cutting the cost curve’ impacted the innovation curve from the perspective of companies of all sizes. This has been a fascinating year for medtech, highlighted by an unprecedented wave of consolidation in the industry, particularly the $43 billion Medtronic acquisition of Covidien.”
