Santa Fe/Seattle Fine Artist Robbi Firestone Donates 100% of Painting Proceeds to Benefit Santa Fe Youth at Lensic’s First Visual Arts Program
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) November 14, 2014 -- Fine artist Robbi Firestone will exhibit work at Santa Fe’s Sacred Body, a community benefit event sponsored by The Lensic Performing Arts Center this Friday, November 14, at 6:30pm. Firestone’s paintings will be available for purchase.
100% of proceeds from sale of Firestone’s piece entitled, “My Love is Stronger than your Fear,” will help create the “Young Adult Scholarship Program for Healing Movement Arts,” a 501 C3 not-for-profit that is affiliated with the New Mexico Dance Coalition.
Firestone’s involvement in Sacred Body evinces her consistent philanthropic commitments. 10% of all private oil painting sales supports organizations close to Firestone’s heart.
Last summer, Firestone presented a series of portraits called, The Spirit of Santa Fe, to benefit the local Food Depot. “You can’t create when you’re hungry,” says Firestone.
The Lensic, housed in an historic building that since 1931, has been a pillar of Santa Fe’s cultural abundance. The Lensic harbors a tremendous sense of community by offering over 200 eclectic performances year-round of local, national, and international talents. The theatre subsidizes local arts organizations and enriches public education by bringing more than 10,000 school children to the theatre annually prompting UNESCO to designate Santa Fe as the first U.S. "World Creative City.”
Created by the visionary Tess Yong, “Sacred Body” is proud to be The Lensic Performing Arts Center’s first program combining visual and performing arts.
“Sacred Body” is a culmination of Yong’s pursuit of physical perfection and inner strength. Her personal training enterprise, modeling, television and film work include a weekly KHNL fitness segment called “Fit For Life with Tess Yong.” A published author, Yong teaches, performs and facilitates holistic body training based in yoga, body sculpting, meditation, and shamanic dance.
Firestone recently launched Santa Fe Art Classes to provide a nurturing, fun Art Sanctuary for beginners to explore his or her inner artist through classes, workshops, and retreats including a beginners, 2 hour, step-by-step painting class.
The Sacred Body art exhibition will continue at the Wheelhouse Art Gallery at 418 Montezuma Avenue from November 16 through November 26, with a grand opening on November 21, from 5pm - 7pm.
