Stolen Tujunga T-Ball Artificial Turf Field to be Replaced and Installed from Donation by Artificial Grass Liquidators
Tujunga, CA (PRWEB) November 19, 2014 -- On December 3rd, 2014, hundreds of young, aspiring athletes from the Tujunga Little League will get to “play ball” again, thanks in large part to the donation and installation of a new artificial turf T-Ball field by Artificial Grass Liquidators, a Southern California based artificial turf retail chain.
The artificial turf field on Big Tujunga Canyon Road, was stolen overnight on Saturday November 8. Sunday morning as parents and their young ball players went to the field to start practicing, they were greeted with nothing but gravel, dirt and what was left of the turf’s infill. Thieves had torn up and removed the field within hours. Police are still investigating the incident. For the young children that regularly use this facility, it is quite a blow not only to their athletic aspirations but also the faith they have in others. "Ridiculously devastating. It really was. It's sad because the kids look forward to this and it's not available to them now," said Chantel Gray,Treasurer of the Tujunga Little League. The artificial turf field was valued at $2000 to $3000 not including installation. The Tujunga Little League, a non-profit organization, does not have the funds to provide a new, safe playing surface for the kids, many of whom are only 5-6 years of age.
Enter Dillon Georgian and Bob DeLozier, owners of Artificial Grass Liquidators. They heard of the incident and felt immediately compelled to take action. "This is such a sad story. God has put it in our hearts to help these kids. Artificial Grass Liquidators has stepped up to the plate and will replace and install a synthetic turf field for them. My team and I are so excited to help these kids." said Georgian.
On December 2nd and 3rd, they will provide and install a new T-Ball field, donating over 4000 square feet of artificial turf. Sports Turf Rejuvenation and Restoration, an associated trade partner, will also provide maintenance and disinfecting services for free for one year following installation.
Media day coverage of the grand opening of the new field is scheduled for 12 PM on December 3rd. On December 3rd the kids will have their field replaced, even better than before, and can return to their “field of dreams”!
