Indie Singer/Songwriter Uses Millennial Thinking - Delivers 23-Song "Multi-Course" Story
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- In his Fast Company article, "Why Millennials Want to Work for Themselves," Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic writes, " Although millennials are expected to make up 75% of the workforce by 2025, a significant number will never be employees in the traditional sense [...] A new favorite career choice has emerged, which eclipses any other form of traditional employtment--working for themselves or launching their own business."
One such millennial is an independent artist that the Washington Post called "impressive" and "a talented musician" and who YouTube featured as the "Unsigned Pick of the Week" on their homepage: Maryland to New York City to Los Angeles transplant, alternative country singer/songwriter Kayte Grace. Grace, since graduating Columbia University in 2011 with a Creative Writing: NonFiction degree, has built an indie music career from the ground up by taking on the national tour booking, marketing, social media strategy, producing, graphic and web design, branding and music creation herself.

Now the self-taught singer/songwriter is several albums and tours deep, and will release the 5-song "Chapter 2: Sail There" EP on November 25th, along with an official music video for a song from the EP called "My Love & the Ocean." The EP will be available for purchase at: http://www.kaytegracemusic.com and on iTunes. "Chapter 2: Sail There" is the 2nd installment of her 5 EP "Set Fire to Separate Lives" Project. "Chapter 1: Say Yes" was released last year.
"It's a kind of progressive dinner, where I serve new music to fans and friends in 4 or 5 song 'courses' ... chapters really ... over the course of a year or two," says Grace.
- About the 5 EP Project & Additional Biographical Info
Set Fire to Separate Lives is being released chapter by chapter to fans who'll be able to "pay what they like" for every EP, (in addition being avaible on iTunes.) The 23-song collection, funded by an IndieGoGo campaign and recorded in 50 hours in Brooklyn, Grace says, "... traces the anatomy of 'forever love' in all of its breathless, brutal brilliance, deep delight and dirty corners."
Grace is also the cousin of 5 time Grammy Winner, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones bassist Victor Wooten, has nearly 700,000 views on her YouTube videos and has also acted professionally for over 15 years, landing roles in national commercials and on TV shows like Law & Order: SVU, Gossip Girl and HBO's The Wire.
