Cambridge Engineered Solutions Expands Sales and Service to United Kingdom and Ireland
Cambridge, Maryland (PRWEB) November 19, 2014 -- Cambridge Engineered Solutions, the world’s largest metal conveyor belt manufacturer, has hired its first representative to support the company’s business growth in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Kevin O’Brien, proprietor of Conveyor Belt Engineering, has been retained as Cambridge’s exclusive United Kingdom and Ireland representative.
“We are pleased to welcome Kevin to our growing international team,” said Tracy Tyler, President and CEO. “His vast knowledge of conveyor system operations and industry practices coupled with his trusted network, will deliver tremendous value to OEMs and food processing companies throughout the UK and Ireland.”
O’Brien is a respected solutions provider in Great Britain with 20 years product development and sales experience. He began his career with German-based Forbo Seigling and was a former manager of Ashworth Europe. For the past seven years, O’Brien has operated Conveyor Belt Engineering, LTD, a strategic consulting business based in Yorkshire, England.
“I have long admired Cambridge’s manufacturing innovations. Their commitment to continuous process improvement and deep understanding of total cost of ownership are well known in food production and industrial manufacturing,” said O’Brien. “While Cambridge metal conveyor belts have been available through select OEMs and direct sales, this is the first time UK and Ireland-based companies will have a full-time, dedicated agent available 24-7.”
In addition to his significant conveyor equipment expertise, O’Brien earned his HND (Higher National Degree) in process engineering from Huddersfield Technical College. He is also a registered Football Association coach and has developed a team over the past decade emphasizing team building and success.
Cambridge and O’Brien plan to initially focus on sales to the snack and baking industries but will look to expand into other food industry sectors as more processors place an emphasis on hygiene and convert from plastic to stainless steel belts to avoid contamination issues caused by bacteria and broken parts.
“Europe has always been a strong market for Cambridge belts but the opportunity to expand within Great Britain and Ireland is an important step in our global growth plan,” said Mike Truitt, Cambridge international sales director. “What sets us apart from others doing business in the region is our unique ability to now deliver superior products and custom service with someone like Kevin’s unmatched expertise.”
Cambridge designs and fabricates metal conveyor belts for companies around the world in food processing (baking, beverage, meat, poultry and snack foods), agriculture, packaging and industrial manufacturing (automotive, building products, carpeting, chemicals, electronics, glass, high temperature environments, protein and solar energy).
