Holcomb & Kreithen Introduce HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser Skin
Sarasota, Florida (PRWEB) November 19, 2014 -- Kreithen Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, one of the top plastic surgery centers in Florida, announced the addition of a new noninvasive laser treatment that will enable their patients to achieve the results they desire with very little downtime. With the introduction of the HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser, Dr. J. David Holcomb, M.D. and Dr. Joshua C. Kreithen, M.D. now offer the latest advance in laser skin rejuvenation designed to recapture the youthful look of their patients’ skin.
“This is a great addition because the laser features a state-of-the-art hybrid fractional laser technology that uses a new wavelength that better targets collagen below the skin’s surface, and an existing workhorse wavelength to rejuvenate the skin’s surface,” said Dr. Holcomb.
The first laser treatment offered with the HALO technology is a 1,470 nm Erbium Glass laser that targets collagen. The Erbium Glass laser deeply penetrates the skin without causing a surface wound. It creates significant collagen remodeling to improve fine lines and wrinkles as well as superficial scarring. “An exciting benefit of this wavelength is that significant pore size reduction has been observed in many patients, a benefit not previously achievable by any other technology in a reliable manner,” added Dr. Holcomb.
The second laser in the new hybrid laser system is a 2,940 nm Erbium YAG laser designed to heal skin that has suffered sun damage. The Erbium YAG laser creates microscopic wounds in the outer layers of the skin to improve skin tone and surface texture and reverse accumulated photodamage from years of sun exposure.
According to Dr. Holcomb, prime candidates for HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser treatments are those with fair and medium skin types. It is designed to correct such skin imperfections as surface discoloration, uneven skin tone, photo damage, enlarged pores, fine lines, shallow wrinkles, superficial scarring and visible signs of aging.
Not only are patients happy with the results of the HALO, but Dr. Holcomb said they are also very pleased with the minimal recovery time. With the micro ablative laser working in tandem with the non-ablative laser, Dr. Holcomb said downtime is usually no more than a typical weekend for most patients. He added that a series of three treatments are recommended for most. The treatment only requires topical anesthetic and incorporates dynamic skin cooling as the laser energy is delivered to the skin.

David Holcomb, M.D. is a fellowship-trained Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Laser Surgeon with more than 20 years of surgical experience who is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
