Andrews International’s C&I Team Travels to Conferences
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- On November 19 and 20, senior executives from the Consulting & Investigations (C&I) division of Andrews International (AI) are attending the 29th Annual Briefing of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) in Washington, D.C. Senior Vice President D.C. Page and Vice President William Besse, CHS-V, are representing the security company at the event.
The theme of OSAC’s 29th Annual Briefing is “Balancing Security and Privacy Challenges in an Information Age.” Secretary of State John Kerry and FBI Director James Comey are among the invited speakers. In the afternoon on Nov. 19, an overseas regional analysis session is followed by breakout sessions on several topics. On Nov. 20, the OSAC Committee for Risk and Information Sharing is presenting a half-day seminar with discussions on using social media for conducting investigations, managing reputational risks, and data mining.
William Besse says he is especially looking forward to the seminar on social media applications for security and risk management, as this is a growing area of business for his firm. “Andrews International is using a platform known as CIPACS (Cyber Intelligence Protection and Containment Scan) to identify threats based on the magnitude and context of online chatter found on social media sites and on the Darknet,” explains Besse. “We can help clients stay out ahead of threats by monitoring social media for evidence of plans to harm or attack people, facilities, events, websites, or confidential data. We are also using CIPACS to gauge positive and negative public sentiment about brands, products, events, and individuals, so clients can plan their prevention, response and recovery mitigation strategies accordingly.”
Earlier this month, D.C. Page traveled overseas to the OffshoreAlert Conference London 2014, where finance industry stakeholders and partners from more than 20 countries and jurisdictions gathered for the latest information about material aspects of conducting business in offshore jurisdictions. This year’s program covered the full spectrum of issues affecting international finance, including current legal, political, regulatory, compliance and tax issues, the detection and prevention of fraud and money laundering, and asset recovery.
Page describes the OffshoreAlert Conference as a can’t-miss event. “Andrews International’s C&I team specializes in asset tracing, digital forensics, and other highly specialized services on a global scale. It’s imperative that we are active and influential in OffshoreAlert and other professional groups and associations with overlapping concerns and interests.” Before Page transitioned into the private security field, he was a senior special agent with the U.S. Customs Service, where he investigated and prosecuted complex money-laundering conspiracy cases and trade-related business frauds including counterfeit product manufacturing and importation.
Page and Besse both are quoted frequently in the press and regularly engaged to speak on security and risk management topics. The insight and intelligence they gain and share through events like the OSAC Annual Meeting and OffshoreAlert Conference ultimately influence safety and security practitioners around the world.
