Angie’s List Scores Gold in 2014 Content Marketing Institute Awards“Finding Normal after Disaster” and Experts Podcast Series Win Top Honors
Indianapolis (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- Angie’s List won two gold medals in the 2014 Content Marketing Awards presented by Content Marketing Institute (CMI).
The company earned one gold medal for its October 2013 cover story and online package about homeowners finding normal after natural or man-made disasters. The second award was earned for its ongoing Chat with the Experts podcast series that offers practical advice from highly rated service professionals.
“We’re immensely proud of the work coming out of our newsroom every day, but this coverage was extra special because it went straight to the heart of how Angie’s List can help people at their most vulnerable,” said Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks. “The weekly podcast broadens that reach to listeners across the country and its consistently great, interesting information.”
The CMI awards are just the latest honors for Angie’s List, the national company that offers a local services marketplace and consumer reviews, as well as a monthly member magazine, and online news covering everything from home improvement to health care.
More than 1,100 entries were in play for the CMA process, now in its 11th year. Entries included other national companies, nationally known content marketing, marketing and public relations firms and traditional news outlets.
The feature “Finding Normal After the Disaster” was awarded Gold for Best Special Topic Issue and focused on six Angie’s List members and their families who were devastated by hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, explosions, and lightning strikes The full package detailed their experiences and offered information about how to file insurance claims following a disaster and how to avoid scams from storm-chasing contractors. The 8-month initiative included infographics, video and still photography.
Chat with the Experts, powered by Angie’s List, a weekly podcast, won Gold for Best Podcast Series. The hourlong show is also broadcast on Indianapolis’ WIBC on Sunday mornings and available on iTunes as well as the Angie’s List website. Highly rated service professionals answer essential questions every homeowner should ask before hiring and talk about trends and issues in their areas of expertise. Angie’s List Newsroom reporters often drop in to discuss their latest findings.
