Keil Lasik Vision Center Gives Their Fifth Annual “Gift of Sight” This Holiday Season
Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- Keil Lasik Vision Center is celebrating the 2014 holiday season by continuing their efforts to help the global community. This is the fifth year that Keil Lasik is offering the “Gift of Sight”, a promotion that gives life changing cataract surgery to those who cannot afford it. For every patient that schedules a free Lasik exam at Keil Lasik between now and December 31, Dr. Michael Keil will make a donation to allow someone less fortunate to have vision restoring surgery.
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in the world. A cataract is a clouding of the lens, usually related to aging. In the United States, cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed ophthalmic procedures and helps many Americans regain their sight. Dr. Keil explains, “Blindness due to cataracts is a widespread problem, but it is a problem that can be corrected. My staff and I encourage members of the West Michigan community to join us and help give the gift of sight this holiday season”.
Last year’s donation went to Mercy Ships, an international charity that uses hospital ships to travel around the world to bring hope and healing to those less fortunate in developing nations. MetroHealth Ophthalmology resident, Nathan Cleaveland, D.O., and attending physician, Ralph Crew, D.O., were awarded the proceeds from last year’s donation to travel on a Mercy Ship to perform cataract eye surgeries to the people of Africa.
Dr. Keil is one of the most experienced Lasik surgeons in the Midwest. He has performed thousand of procedures which results from years of specialized training with certification on seven different Lasik lasers. He is currently using the Allegretto Eye-Q 400Hz and Nidek NAVEX Quest EC-5000 excimer lasers along with the Ziemer FemtoLDV. These state of the art lasers efficiently produce more accurate and quicker results as well as increasing patient comfort. Dr. Keil’s mission is to provide the best possible vision and vision care to the people of West Michigan and beyond.
