A FAIR TO REMEMBER: Waldorf Fair 2014 Inspires the Head, Heart and Hands
Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) November 19, 2014 -- Waldorf School of Baltimore (WSB) hosting its annual Waldorf Fair on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10am-4pm on school grounds.
“The Waldorf Fair is a wonderful opportunity to take time out of our busy schedules to slow down and nourish our minds, bodies, and spirits…” Pat Whitehead, Executive Director of the Waldorf School of Baltimore.
Remember the wonder of childhood? Find it again at this year’s Waldorf Fair. Children and adults alike will enjoy a variety of fun “unplugged” activities that make Waldorf education unique including: jump-rope making, beeswax candle rolling, the fishing game, marionette shows, and live music.
The annual Waldorf Fair reflects the values and aesthetics of Waldorf education, which is based on a profound understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. Waldorf teachers strive to transform education into an art that educates the whole child—the heart and the hands, as well as the head.
The Winter Faerie Grotto, a family favorite, transports families to a magical realm where children meet the winter faerie, listen to an inspiring story, and receive a token to help on their journey. This year, families will also enjoy sweet and savory dishes provided by Woodberry Kitchen and Rouge Fine Catering.
“…of course, getting a little holiday shopping done in our handmade crafts market doesn’t hurt either.”
More than your average Holiday fair, the Waldorf Fair offers a window into a model of education that has been inspiring children across the world with the joy of lifelong learning since 1919.
