Responsible Travel appoints Tim Williamson to the newly created role of Content & Marketing Director

Tim Williamson is to join Responsible Travel from Monarch Airlines as Content & Marketing Director. Responsible Travel is the leading online travel company for authentic travel experiences.

Williamson, who has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Responsible Travel board for 18 months, starts his new role on 1st December. He commented: “Already Responsible Travel represents over 400 tour operators, all of whom have had to meet stringent environment and community standards, making it the largest meta site in the world for customers to easily find an authentic small group or tailored tour. This coupled with a rapidly expanding portfolio of responsible tourism content fuels the growing sense of momentum around authentic travel, and Responsible Travel as the leading aggregator in this growing part of the industry. My role is to help further this expansion , delivering both profits and principles. Authentic, responsible travel is no longer a niche option and I’m looking forward to increasing its profile via this exciting and dynamic digital business”.

The role of Director of Content & Marketing is a natural progression for Williamson, presenting him with an opportunity to unite heart and head combining the customer experience and marketing knowledge with responsible tourism and authenticity. Prior to Director of Customer Experience and Marketing at Monarch Airlines, Williamson was CEO of The Travel Department in Ireland, Customer Director at TUI UK, and an ABTA board director who chaired their Sustainable Tourism Committee and the Travellife Board and steering committee. He is also co-founder of Development Squared, a business-mentoring organisation designed to help Swazi companies as well as develop the management skills of senior UK executives.
