In another step towards accomplishing Midwest Industrial Supply Inc.’s long-term business goals, the company recently hired Linden Swensen as its Power Group Manager. With his substantial experience in the mining sector and the relationships he’s cultivated over his 30-year career, Swensen promises to be a key player in Midwest’s plans to expand their presence in the coal and utility markets.

“Mr. Swensen comes to us with a long career that has been rooted deep in those markets for the past three decades,” said Midwest founder and CEO Robert Vitale. “The extensive network and experience he developed while working for Kiewit Mining Group, Inc. and as an independent consultant to the mining industry will position Midwest to take advantage of the many available opportunities for growth in the coal mining and utility sectors of our business.”

Swensen brings 30 years of experience to Midwest, having already built personal and professional relationships with a number of high-profile clients, including Ambre Energy Brisbane, Ambre Energy North America, Level 3 Communications, Andarko, Cloud Peak, RPS Fuels, and CanAm Coal. Moreover, Swensen’s expertise extends far beyond the mining industry, as he also brings to the table a wealth of knowledge of the industrial minerals sector.

Midwest first broke into the utilities market in 1975 with the introduction of its de-icing and anti-icing winter solutions. Since then, the company has produced a steady stream of innovative products while broadening its contributions to the coal and utility sectors. This hiring only serves to enhance Midwest’s presence in these industries.

“With Mr. Swensen’s leadership, we look forward to many more years of prosperous growth and a long-term commitment to our business relationships with current and future customers,” Robert Vitale said. With Swensen aboard, Midwest can start to forge new alliances and solidify existing ones in the coal and industrial mineral sectors while honoring the company’s decades-old legacy of commitment to its clients and partners.
