The D’Esopo Funeral Chapel today announced that it will host a Thanksgiving Turkey Drive to benefit Foodshare of Hartford, this Saturday, November 22nd from 1 to 4pm EST. The event will be hosted at D’Esopo’s Wethersfield location at 277 Folly Brook Boulevard.
The fun-filled community event will feature a petting zoo for children, face painting, glitter tattoos, and popcorn while collecting turkeys and non-perishable food items.
“The holidays can be a difficult time for families in need”, said Janet D'Esopo Klett, the company's Community Service Director, “we wanted to pitch in to create a fun, community event that could help make a difference.”
According to Foodshare, there are 128,000 people in Hartford and Tolland counties alone who cannot be sure where their next meal is coming from, including one out of every five children in the area.
The first 400 individuals to drop off a turkey or non-perishable food items will receive a free gift courtesy of D’Esopo.
