Prepared Response, Inc. Releases Rapid Responder® V7.0 Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management System
KIRKLAND, WA (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- Prepared Response is pleased to announce the release of Rapid Responder Version 7.0, Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management system. Version 7.0 provides increased emergency preparedness and response capabilities for federal, state and local facilities across the U.S. New features include an iPad app, advanced notifications and reminders, improved ease of navigation, expanded event management interface, updated Emergency Response Guide data and more.
The Rapid Responder iPad app provides customers another option to access and store critical data including emergency plans, contact information, facility plans, utility locations, chemical inventory and security information. Once downloaded onto the iPad, the data can be accessed without an Internet connection.
“We have over 19,000 Rapid Responder end users who provide us excellent feedback and ideas to improve the system. The iPad app, enhanced Hazmat chemical documentation, and reminders for maintenance and testing of life safety systems are just a few of the features suggested by our customers” says Prepared Response CEO, Jim Finnell. “The system also now provides graphical reporting to statistically evaluate drills and incidents allowing customers to benchmark their performance against other facilities for lockdowns, evacuations and shelter-in-place events. Since many incidents are over before first responders can arrive and effectively assist, site performance tracking and measurement is critical to continuous improvement and enhanced outcomes.”
Rapid Responder was originally developed in 2000, by first responders who created an emergency response system in order to avoid some of the unfortunate events experienced in the 1999, Columbine High School tragedy. Today, Rapid Responder is used by schools, commercial sites, religious centers, healthcare facilities, hotels, and federal, state and local government agencies. Using Rapid Responder, Prepared Response customers have increased safety drill reporting activity by 40% in the last five years through the NIMS (National Incident Management System) based incident command module. With its new reporting features, we anticipate Version 7.0 will allow for further safety preparedness improvement.
Responder provides first responders and facility leaders secure access to site-specific information including floor plans, aerial imagery, emergency plans, live camera feeds and other critical information needed during a crisis. Rapid Responder has been used successfully during a campus shooting, bomb threats, lock downs and other emergency situations on school campuses and other sites across the country. The system is SAFETY Act Certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as "Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology" and endorsed by the National Sheriffs’ Association.
