Attorney Zulu Ali - Opens Legal Clinic for Military Veterans
Riverside, California (PRWEB) November 21, 2014 -- On January 1, 2015, the Veterans Legal Clinic of Southern California will be launched in Riverside, CA. as a nonprofit. The Veterans Legal Clinic will offer free professional legal advice to physically and financially distressed military veterans. The clinic will provide a free legal clinic at least twice monthly in Riverside and will work with other veteran organizations in its effort to provide pro bono legal services. The legal clinic are looking for other attorneys in the area to assist with the project. The legal clinic was inspired by the late LeeRoy Huff, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam and directed the Inland Empire Veterans Stand-down. Although the clinic will initially be held in Riverside, California, the services will be offered to veterans throughout Southern California.
The Veterans Legal Clinic was founded and will be directed by Attorney Zulu Ali. Zulu Ali is an attorney in Riverside, California. A former police officer and U.S. marine, Ali decided to start the free legal clinic in response to what he sees as a lack of access to legal assistance to those who served our country and are experiencing legal problems without any resources. Attorney Ali stated: "As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, I feel that we should do more to honor those who serve. I am a strong believer in veteran preference when it comes to access to housing, employment, medical, and legal assistance. Often the courts fail to take into consideration military service when it evaluates mitigating circumstances. There is nothing more honorable than committing yourself to service of this country."
