Sacred Body, a Santa Fe community benefit event combining visual and performing arts continues at the Wheelhouse Art Gallery with a grand opening on Friday, November 21, from 5pm - 7pm at 418 Montezuma Avenue. It will run through November 26.

Sacred Body features some of the most elite Santa Fe artists including Michael Bergt, Michael Honack, Katherine Maxwell, Sandra Filippucci, Steven Kenny, Sharun Gilmore, Robert Ash, and Robbi Firestone, and is curated by dancer/healer Tess Yong.

Portrait artist Robbi Firestone feels particularly moved by Yong’s intentions for the show. To express gratitude for Firestone’s own healing journey through ecstatic dance, she is committing 100% of proceeds from sale of one piece titled, “My Love is Stronger than your Fear.” This fund will help create a “Young Adult Scholarship Program for Healing Movement Arts,” a 501 C3 not-for-profit affiliated with the New Mexico Dance Coalition.

Created by the visionary Tess Yong, Sacred Body is proud to be The Lensic Performing Arts Center’s first program and sponsorship combining visual and performing arts, and is a culmination of Yong’s pursuit of physical perfection and inner strength.

A published author, Yong teaches, performs and facilitates holistic body training based in yoga, body sculpting, meditation and shamanic dance. Yong’s personal training, modeling, television and film work include a weekly KHNL fitness segment called “Fit For Life with Tess Yong.”

Firestone’s involvement in Sacred Body evinces her consistent philanthropic commitments. 10% of all private oil painting sales supports organizations close to Firestone’s heart.

Last summer, Firestone presented a series of portraits called, The Spirit of Santa Fe, to benefit the local Food Depot. “You can’t create when you’re hungry,” says Firestone.

Firestone recently launched Santa Fe Art Classes to provide a nurturing, fun Art Sanctuary for beginners to explore their inner artists through classes, workshops, and retreats, including a 2-hour, guided painting class from which participants will take home their own mini-masterpiece.

Robbi Firestone is a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner (RScP) whose passion is inspiring and empowering women to live more creative, authentic lives. A fine artist, speaker, and coach, Firestone has 15 years of teaching experience, and is available as a keynote speaker on creativity and the sacred feminine.

Firestone’s prized oil portraits, known as "Spirit Capture" oil portrait commissions, reflect her subject's inner selves, hopes, and dreams, as well as the faces they show to the world.
