Botanica Day Spa to Raise Awareness for Homeless Pets at 20th Anniversary Celebration
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- Botanica Day Spa, specializing in natural treatments for the body, skin and nails, has announced the details for their upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebration. The spa recently worked to raise funds at their Fall Open House, matching retail purchases with a donation to the SPCA Tampa Bay. The spa will continue this partnership at their upcoming event to celebrate 20 years in business, accepting donations and raffling off prizes to contributors who attend. The Botanica 20th Anniversary Celebration is Monday December 15th at 6:00pm.
Spa owner Gen Obolensky says a partnership with the SPCA is especially important to her after witnessing her own dogs suffering at home.
"Just last week we said goodbye to Havana, and we recently found out that Lady is also sick," said Obolensky. Havana, 11, and Lady, 12, are Obolensky's family dogs who almost simultaneously were diagnosed with cancer this year.
"We are devastated, and the news of both being sick has been really hard to deal with over the past few months,” she added. “We are relieved that Havana is no longer suffering, and she has inspired us to raise awareness and resources for animals who are homeless and need our help. I can't think of a better way to honor her."
The SPCA Tampa Bay took in more than 9,500 live strays in 2013, providing quality care, adoption and foster care services to homeless animals. The organization also provides spay/neuter assistance to the community and offers 24/7 cruelty investigations, advocating for animal health and safety through all possible avenues.

The anniversary event will take place in celebration of Botanica's loyal client base who have remained like family to the iconic day spa over the past 20 years. Obolensky, who was just 22 years old when she took over the spa in 2004, hopes to thank everyone who has helped the spa maintain its success.
Free gifts, birthday cupcakes, a photo booth and a family-friendly holiday movie showing are just some of what Botanica has in store for the event. All guests are encouraged to bring a cash donation for the SPCA or a contribution of badly needed pet supplies to receive a raffle ticket for over $1200 in spa prizes, including two $400 spa baskets, a Clarisonic Smart Profile and more. The Botanica Day Spa 20th Anniversary Celebration will take place December 15th at the Capitol Theatre in Downtown Clearwater. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the movie will start at 6:30pm.
