After a highly competitive RFP process, the Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) selected Condit to create unique temporary structures for the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Beaver Creek and Vail, Colorado. The Event will run from February 2 -15, 2015. Second only to the Olympics, this event is one of the most exalted alpine ski competitions in the world, attracting over 700 of the top ski racers from around the globe, prestigious sponsors, and thousands of spectators.

Design and planning began in early 2014 with construction spanning from mid-September to mid-November 2014. Condit was responsible for constructing two temporary structures. The first, a 25mx40m (82’x131’), two-story temporary structure with 21,500 sq. feet of interior and exterior deck space, will be used as the Gold/Platinum structure. This VIP experience and dining area for invited guests sits at the finish line of the world famous Birds of Prey downhill course at Beaver Creek.

The second temporary structure, a custom built 5m x10m x4 (16’x32’x13), single-story temporary structure, with 512 sq. ft. of interior space, will be used as a television studio. Split into two 16’x16’ media areas, this unique temporary structure was built atop the massive, 7,000 person finish area grandstand. This facility will be the production center for NBC and affiliate sports channels. In all, over 900 hours of extended coverage of the races and surrounding events will air in over 70 nations and reach approximately 750 million viewers.

The interior build-out for the larger VIP structure will include custom restrooms, natural gas as the heating source, extensive lighting, and themed areas throughout the building. The TV studios interior fit-out includes flooring, studio lighting, and media counters. Both structures will have exterior branding graphics.

Working closely with the VVF, Eagle County, Beaver Creek, the Forest Service, an engineering team, and other partnering vendors, Condit completed and now showcases its unparalleled turnkey offerings at this esteemed sporting event.
