Dr. Haim D. Blecher, NJ Top Doc, is the founder of University Spine Associates and a board-certified, fellowship trained spine surgeon. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, with notable memberships and candidacies in reputable organizations, such as the North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society, Dr. Blecher demonstrates a commitment to the continual pursuit of advancement in spine treatment and orthopaedic care.

After receiving his doctorate of medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse, he continued his educational career by exploring several orthopaedic specialties of which his most recent was a spine surgery fellowship obtained at the Spine Institute of New York-Beth Israel Medical Center. While he is an experienced spinal surgeon specializing in the treatment of spine injury, spinal column and vertebra deformities, and conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, his passion lies in complex spinal fusion and reconstruction surgery for patients who require reconstruction of a previously failed spinal surgery and patients with adult scoliosis.

In addition to his extensive training in the fields of back, neck, and minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Blecher has published and presented on a number of topics discussing spine surgery techniques including, but not limited to, surgical options for metastatic disease, minimally invasive spine surgery, vertebral spinal column reconstruction, and artificial disc surgery.

“We feel very fortunate to be able to offer patients an unparalleled approach for the management of their spinal conditions. While we perform cutting edge outpatient minimally invasive surgeries, our particular area of interest is complex spinal reconstruction. Patients with a complex spinal condition require a very involved approach. We designed our practice with the complex spinal patient in mind. Each patient is given the all the time and resources that are needed to make sure their diagnosis and treatment options are optimized and the patient is well educated as to their options.”

It is their philosophy that it is critical for patients to have all the right information regarding their disease, treatment process, potential complications, and associated factors that may be related to spinal surgery so that they may make the appropriate decision to their care. They understand that it is difficult for most patients to understand the difference between surgical options, so they make it a point to spend time with patients, explain the pros and cons of each of these approaches to the treatment of the spine, and how each one of these treatments may or may not be a reasonable option for their diagnosis.
