Northern Arizona University Ranked A Top University For Veterans
Flagstaff, AZ (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- Northern Arizona University (NAU) is once again featured by Military Times as part of their Best for Vets: College 2015 rankings. NAU was ranked 27th out of 120 top schools, moving up nine spots from the previous year.
Military Times is the trusted provider of independent armed forces news to service members and their families. Their annual assessment of U.S. universities recognizes schools that offer the highest quality education and services to their military students.
Military Times’ determining criteria included military enrollment, acceptance of military credits, percentage of tuition covered by the GI Bill, quality of veteran programs, academic support systems, graduation rates and default rates.
“NAU has been more than helpful with my transition out of the military,” says Rogelio Camarena, a Marine who recently separated active service. “They gave me the confidence to pursue a professional career.”
NAU is the only 4-year university in Arizona to be recognized on the list. NAU is also ranked by the U.S. News & World Report as one of the best universities in the nation for online bachelor’s degree programs for veterans.
Jordan Sherwood, a Marine Corps veteran and a Public Administration student, has the unique perspective of being a combat veteran returning to college to pursue a career in education. “I know what it means to be truly veteran friendly,” he says. “Northern Arizona University not only hits the mark, but they lead the way in educating our nation’s service members.”
