Blue Man Group Percussionist Becomes A Signature EtyHead
Elk Grove Village, IL (PRWEB) November 24, 2014 -- When Thomas Benko is blue, it doesn’t mean he’s sad. He’s just assuming his role as a member of Blue Man Group, one of several ensembles to include the versatile drummer, percussionist, and educator. And, when he’s not beating on objects wearing blue paint, he’s also a member of the Chicago Bears’ drumline, as well as a percussion specialist at the Lake Park and Maine South High Schools.
Needless to say, with all that percussion going on around him, Benko knows he needs to protect his hearing. He recently became a self-proclaimed “Etyhead” endorsing his ER•4 MicroPro Earphones. “They’re so crisp, accurate and comfortable,” he says. “The ER•4s have the sonic definition to let me focus on making and performing music while protecting my ears. I use them nearly every day. Thank you, Etymotic!”
A graduate of Northern Illinois University’s percussion program, Benko performed with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps and NorthCoast Academy Percussion Ensemble. In addition to performing with Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theater, he serves as an instructor, helping new Blue Man members with their drumming skills. He also mans the drum throne for Chicago based rock bands, Minor Characters and RaKunk.
