Head Over Heels Athletic Arts' Level 10 Gymnast Katelyn Lentz Signs a Letter of Intent to Attend Arizona State University
Emeryville, CA (PRWEB) November 26, 2014 -- Wednesday, November 12th is the National Letter of Intent signing day for the early signing period for full scholarship athletes all over the country. On this day Head Over Heels’ level 10 gymnast Katelyn Lentz signed her letter to attend Arizona State University for the fall of 2015 on a full gymnastics scholarship.
Katelyn Lentz first came to Head Over Heels in 2009 as a 12 year old level 6 gymnast. She showed potential, but time was not on her side. “When Katelyn expressed that she wanted to earn a scholarship, we knew that we had a lot of work to do, in very little time”, says head coach Katreece Stone.
Ms. Lentz quickly moved up the levels and rankings over the past few years. She was the all-around champion at level 9 Westerns in 2012 and then moved up to level 10 in 2013. In her junior year of high school, the 2014 season, Katelyn caught the attention of many schools when she earned the Junior Olympic National Beam title and took 4th on the uneven bars.
“It was always a dream of mine to receive a full gymnastics scholarship,” says Ms. Lentz. “I’m really excited to become a Sun Devil next year.” Coach Stone adds, “Katleyn’s small frame and quickness creates a beautiful and light style of gymnastics. Her hard work and perseverance has paid off and we are all really proud of her.”
