Acer America today announced the North American availability of its Acer S1383WHne professional series projector offering short-throw versatility, network control, and a high 3,200 lumens brightness for $699 (MSRP) in the United States and $799 CAD (MSRP) in Canada.
Touting short-throw technology and a native 16:10 aspect ratio, the Acer S1383WHne delivers clear and wide images of up to 300 inches diagonally from just 10.9 feet from the screen. This feature offers flexibility in placement options, making it an excellent fit for school auditoriums, lecture halls and classrooms as well as conference rooms in business and government. Due to its ability to project large pictures from a short distance, it can also be used in a living room.
When used with the Crestron® web-based control console,(1) the Acer S1383WHne can be controlled remotely via a LAN. It also works with Crestron RoomView®, a multi-user resource management program offering facility-wide monitoring, control and reporting of audio-visual resources.

Vibrant Visuals
Boasting a 3200 ANSI lumens brightness and native WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the Acer S1383WHne can project clear, vibrant images from a long distance on a large screen, even indoors during daylight. Dedicated Constant Brightness technology enables the projector to provide up to three years of use.(2) Dynamic Black technology creates excellent image contrast via a dynamic lamp power adjustment that analyzes content frame by frame. It dynamically adjusts dark scenes to optimal black levels, while maintaining brightness, resulting in vibrant image quality and a high 13,000:1 contrast ratio.
Colors are true thanks to Acer ColorBoost II technology that leverages an optimized 6-segment color wheel, powerful image processing and advanced lamp illumination. Featuring ColorSafe II, the Acer S1383WHne ensures color fidelity via dynamic RGB gain control.
The projector has digital zoom and pan, so users can magnify details and a built-in 10W speaker delivers high quality sound, eliminating the need for external speakers. It’s also DLP® 3D Ready, so it can be paired with a PC or audio-visual device that supports 120Hz output and a DLP® 3D kit for a flicker-free 3D experience.
Time-Saving Features
The Acer S1383WHne projector measures just 12.4 – x 8.8 – x 3.7-inches and weighs 6.2 lbs. Acer’s top-loading lamp design enables quick lamp replacement in just a few simple steps, even when the projector is ceiling mounted. The Acer S1383WHne also comes with multiple connectivity options that include a HDMI® port with MHL connectivity for charging smartphones and tablets as well as composite, s-video, and two sets of D-Sub and audio connectors, which allow users to connect two PCs for instant switching.
Acer SmartDetection significantly reduces signal detection time and Acer SmartFormat supports all wide-format PC signals, eliminating unsupported signal issues and having to change the resolution of the PC. Instant resume enables the projector to power up right after it has been turned off, so there is no need to wait for a cooling period, while instant packing capability allows it to be packed immediately after use.
The Acer S1383WHne provides up to 4,000 hours of lamp life in standard mode, 6,000 hours in ECO mode and as many as 8,000 hours in ExtremeECO mode.
