I am excited to join CSM and I believe I can have a positive impact here. I know this is a great fit and I will get to use all the skills I've acquired over 26 years in the industry.

CSM, a leading clinical trial supply company, has hired a new Vice President of Global Compliance and Risk Management to join its leadership team. Michael Bernstein accepted this new position—created to take CSM’s innovative services to a global market and to incorporate a Quality Management System (QMS) into its service sector—in late 2014.

“CSM is a fast-growing company,” said Gerald Finken, CSM’s President and CEO. “In Michael, we found the right person to lead us in moving our QMS forward. Our clients already recognize CSM as having one of the best quality systems in the industry, but we are about to raise the bar even higher. Michael will do this and will help us grow globally,” Finken said.

CSM has shown steady growth within the United States, and also has been advancing in the international marketplace. Finken said he looked for someone with the appropriate international experience who is able to help plan for strategic change and innovation.

Michael Bernstein brings 26 years of experience in research and manufacturing compliance, project management, risk management, IT and budgeting within the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Bernstein worked for Merck & Co., in West Point, Pa., where he was the Head of Controlled Substance Compliance and provided oversight and assurance for all global controlled substance activities.

“I am excited to join CSM and I believe I can have a positive impact here,” said Bernstein. “I know this is a great fit and I will get to use all the skills I’ve acquired over 26 years in the industry.”

Bernstein, who has a master’s degree in radiation science from Rutgers University, is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt and is also a member of the American Society for Quality, Parenteral Drug Association and the Professional Risk Managers' International Association.
