I am very honored to be a Medical Advisory Board Member...and look forward to the expansion of cutting edge research and therapies to patients and physicians in communities that have had limited access in the past.
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) November 26, 2014
PMG Research, Inc. announced today the formation of its Medical Advisory Board. PMG Research is a network of sites that provide clinical research services to pharmaceutical companies and CROs, with access to over 2 million patient lives through its partnerships with large physician practices and integrated health systems. PMG Research is comprised of 11 hub site locations in the Southeastern United States and spans over 60 physician practices.
The first term of the board will be held by: Dr. Robert Holmes, MD, of PMG Research of Winston-Salem and Gastroenterology Associates of the Piedmont; Dr. Douglas Lee, MD, of PMG Research of Wilmington and Wilmington Health; Dr. John Rubino, MD of PMG Research of Raleigh and Raleigh Medical Group; and Dr. Shalendra (Dave) Varma, MD, MPH, of PMG Research of Rocky Mount and Boice-Willis Clinic.
As an organization committed to providing unparalleled service to its clients: patient volunteers, the pharmaceutical industry, and healthcare partners, PMG Research greatly values the physician investigator as a research patient advocate, and also values the physician investigator’s perspective of the pharmaceutical and health care landscape. Therefore, the Medical Advisory Board has been established to provide guidance to PMG Research with two primary objectives: Patient engagement and patient compliance, and promoting shared value between PMG Research and its health care institution and physician relationships to optimize clinical research as a care option.
“We are grateful for the participation of Drs. Holmes, Lee, Rubino, and Varma. They bring an immense breadth of experience as healthcare providers and principal investigators. Their collective insights regarding the value of research in the healthcare landscape will enhance the ways we are able to achieve our mission of bringing clinical research to as many lives as possible,” states Jennifer Byrne.
“I am very honored to be a Medical Advisory Board Member for PMG Research and look forward to the expansion of cutting edge research and therapies to patients and physicians in communities that have had limited access in the past,” explains Dr. Varma.
The Medical Advisory Board will convene on a quarterly basis to advise PMG Research with respect to select patient-focused strategic initiatives, regulatory and health care policy, and physician and health care engagement to better advance bringing the right trials to the right patients.
