Pearl River Resort, the Southeast’s premier luxury entertainment and gaming destination has announced new hires that will enhance the resort’s strong leadership team. The talented new personnel bring nearly 50 years of combined leadership skills and will be play a key role in helping to achieve the resort’s goals.
Carole Brand, Vice President and General Counsel, Pearl River Resort
Carole Brand has joined Pearl River Resort as Vice President and General Counsel. Brand has more than 18 years of gaming law experience. Prior to joining Pearl River Resort she practiced at Phelps Dunbar LLP, Gaming Division, worked as Vice President and General Counsel for Beau Rivage Resort, Inc. and Gold Strike Casino and Resort and served as Director of the Legal Division of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, for the Mississippi Attorney General. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Mississippi State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi, School of Law. In her new role, Brand provides legal guidance to the board of directors and senior management on matters relating to the resort.
Bill Burtch, CIO & Vice President of Information Technology, Pearl River Resort
Information Systems Technology veteran, Bill Burtch has over 30 years of experience and a broad range of expertise including casino operations, CRM, application development, IT security and strategic planning. He has worked at various gaming entities in California, Nevada, and Mississippi. Bill most recently served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Technology for Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. In this role, he was instrumental in concurrently upgrading the casino management system and converting outdated software to Infinium for the largest casino resort in Northern Nevada. He also served as Vice President of Information Technology for Thunder Valley Casino Resort. He has worked at Harrah’s Entertainment for twenty years, holding various leadership positions including Regional Director of IT (Mid-South). In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of information technology for the Resort.
