Telmate is the only phone system I’ve found in my 28+ years of tenure that actually reduces troubleshooting concerns, while giving numerous ways to monitor inmate funds, phone and visitation activities,” Brady said.

Certified Jail Manager Barry Brady, and Telmate’s December 2014 Hero of the Month, embodies his title as a corrections leader. He began his career in the corrections industry in 1986 as a Corrections Officer with U.S. Corrections Corporation and over the years, has advanced through the ranks; from Chief of Security to Assistant Warden to Warden.

Brady was elected as Marion County Jailer in 2002 and throughout his career has received plenty of accolades for his dedication, commitment and professionalism. In 2011, Brady completed the Certified Jail Managers program.

As Jailer, the asset that Brady values most is the safety of his professionally trained work force. Since partnering with Telmate, he believes that it has helped them in the day-to-day operational efficiencies.

“Telmate is the only phone system I’ve found in my 28+ years of tenure that actually reduces troubleshooting concerns, while giving numerous ways to monitor inmate funds, phone and visitation activities,” Brady said. “This ensures public safety as well as aiding in safety issues within the facility.”

Jailer Brady is no stranger to being recognized in the community. His honors include 2011 Marion County Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Person, the 2010 Kentucky Jailer Association Jailer of the Year, and the American Jailers Association 28th Annual Board of Directors Award in April 2009. He has also served eight terms on the Kentucky Jailers Association Board of Directors.

“As Jailer, I hope that my legacy has positioned Marion County at the forefront of the changing paradigm of the industry,” said Brady.

Telmate’s Hero Program tells stories from the perspective of the everyday hero, according to Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Hansen.

“As a company, Telmate represents empowerment, trust and technology,” he said, “and this program shows how we empower heroes to provide safety and control in the facilities they serve.”

Each month Telmate receives nominations from their 300+ facilities in recognition of the true heroes in corrections that use the company’s technology, day in and day out. Once every month, Telmate recognizes these heroes by selecting one Hero of the Month to honor for their dedication and leadership.
