Moosejaw and Arc’teryx to Donate $20 for Every Jacket Sold
(PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- Moosejaw and Arc’teryx are teaming up for “Jackets for Good” to add some good will to this winter jacket buying season. For two weeks starting this #GivingTuesday, December 2, every customer that buys an Arc’teryx jacket from Moosejaw will get to choose from four charities to receive a $20 donation.
Moosejaw and Arc’teryx are working with four charities that cover a range of worthy causes:
- Lewa Wildlife Conservancy works to protect some of Africa's critically endangered species, notably the black rhino and Grevy's zebra.
- Water for People is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to improved water and sanitation systems and services in developing countries.
- United Service Organizations is a nonprofit organization that provides programs, services and live entertainment to United States troops and their families.
- Camp Interactive exists to cultivate the potential of America’s underserved youth and narrow the technical skills gap in our economies and the opportunity gap in our communities
Customers that don’t need a new jacket will be able to donate directly to each charity on Crowdrise.com/JacketsForGood. At the end of the two weeks, the charity that has raised the most money from jacket donations or customers will win an extra $5,000.
“Moosejaw’s customers are very socially conscious and they’re all about the best in outerwear, so the idea just made sense,” explains Eoin Comerford, Moosejaw CEO. “The basic concept was: you need a jacket, so you may as well do some good too.”
The Jackets for Good campaign came out of a brainstorming session between senior management at Moosejaw and Arc’teryx.
“When Moosejaw proposed the Jackets for Good campaign idea, we enthusiastically approved,” said Vincent Wauters, President and General Manager, Arc’teryx. “It fits into a long history of giving back at Arc’teryx, such as our Birds Nest program where we distribute waterproof capes made from excess materials to Vancouver’s homeless population.”
The Jackets for Good campaign runs December 2 – 15, 2014. Details and ongoing results can be found at Moosejaw.com/JacketsForGood.
