Maryland Language Science Center Partners with 7000 Languages Project
Nashua, NH (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- Transparent Language, Inc. today announced the formation of the Langscape 7000 Partnership in cooperation with the Maryland Language Science Center at the University of Maryland. The Langscape 7000 Partnership will create leading-edge software for the teaching and learning of languages largely ignored by the commercial world.
The Langscape 7000 Partnership is the latest initiative of Transparent Language's 7000 Languages Project. With approximately 7,100 living languages in the world today, the goal of the 7000 Languages Project is to create world-class web- and mobile-delivered learning materials for the 7,000 languages beyond the top 100 or so that attract significant commercial support.
The technology for the 7000 Languages Project is donated by Transparent Language, but the passion and expertise for each project is brought together by expert 7000 Partnerships, of which the Langscape 7000 Partnership is the latest.
Langscape, a major new online portal for learning about languages worldwide, combines an interactive language map with links to an expanding range of resources on thousands of languages. Langscape is intended to serve multiple communities, including language teachers and learners, researchers, K-12 educators, government and NGOs, and public outreach.
By partnering with the 7000 Languages Project, Langscape is aiming to create and make available powerful technology-delivered learning materials for an increasing selection of languages. Langscape will help language experts to develop detailed content on individual languages. That content can then be delivered in specialized 7000 Languages Project technology modules for web, computers, and mobile devices.
Transparent Language develops transformational language-learning and teaching software for serious language schools and programs in the US government and elsewhere.
