Information Governance Initiative Announces the 2015 Chief Information Governance Officer Summit
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 03, 2014 -- Our ever increasing volume of information is a huge challenge facing the world, today. Finding a way to handle that information better has created a pressing need for a new kind of leadership—the Chief Information Governance Officer or CIGO. As part of the Information Governance Initiative (IGI) Annual Report 2014, IGI advocated the creation of the CIGO role, a C-level position for a person with sufficient breadth of organizational knowledge and sufficient authority to join all the parts of information governance (IG) together into an operational whole. Join us for the first conference of its kind, as we explore the dimensions of the CIGO role at the IGI’s inaugural CIGO Summit on May 20-21, 2015 in Chicago.
What is the CIGO Summit?
The CIGO Summit is an exclusive, full-day, management/executive-level conference for experienced IG practitioners currently serving in CIGO-like functions at their organizations or who are likely to evolve into such a role in the near future. Through panel discussions, keynotes, activities, and more with the IGI Executive Team and other IG practitioners in leadership roles, the CIGO Summit will elucidate the role of CIGO. The Summit is a forum for participants to learn and share ideas with each other about that role, including:
• What does it mean to be a CIGO?
• Where should the CIGO role sit or report within an organization?
• What are the day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the CIGO?
• How does the role relate to other C-level positions?
• What skills, experience, and knowledge does a CIGO need for success?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of the various backgrounds for assuming this role?
• And much, much more.
