CLSA Americas, LLC Announces New Head of US Equity Sales and Head of US Equity Trading- Announce additional senior hires in Boston and San Francisco as part of firm-wide growth plan.

The addition of Ed and David underscores our continued focus on strengthening our equity sales and trading capabilities in the US, while executing on our stated long-term growth plans.

CLSA Americas, the North American affiliate of Asia's leading independent brokerage and investment group CLSA, announced today that it has bolstered its equity sales and trading efforts by naming Ed Heaney as Managing Director and Head of US Equity Sales, and David Memmott as Managing Director and Head of US Equity Trading. Both Mr. Heaney and Mr. Memmott will be based in New York and will report directly to CLSA Americas Chief Executive Officer Rick Gould.

Mr. Heaney has over 25 years of financial markets experiences and joins CLSA Americas from EverKey Global Partners, a subsidiary of Wells Capital Management where he held several senior positions including President, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Portfolio Specialist. He also spent over 17 years in various positions within Morgan Stanley’s institutional sales group. Mr. Heaney holds a BA in Business from Gettysburg College.

Mr. Memmott has 25 years of experience in the financial industry and joins CLSA Americas from ISI Group, where he was Head of Trading. Prior to ISI, he held various senior positions within Morgan Stanley’s institutional trading group. Mr. Memmott holds a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University.

CLSA Americas also announced the hiring of Greg Darnall as Managing Director and Bill Cook as Managing Director, both within its US equity division. Mr. Cook will be based in San Francisco and Mr. Darnall will be based in Boston. Mr. Darnall joins CLSA Americas from MKM Partners where he was co-head of institutional sales. Prior to MKM, he held senior positions at BMO Capital Markets and Fulcrum Global Partners. Mr. Darnell holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a BA from Hamilton College.

Mr. Cook joins CLSA Americas from Piper Jaffray where he was a Managing Director in the institutional sales division. Prior to Piper Jaffray, Mr. Cook held senior positions in institutional sales with Fulcrum Partners, W.R. Hambrecht and SG Cowen. Mr. Cook holds a BS in Business Administration and Finance from Virginia Tech.

In October, CLSA Americas announced the addition of Michael Lean as its Director of Research as well as four other key hires within its Equities division.
