ITelagen Enables Practices to Increase Revenues from Chronic Care Management
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) December 03, 2014 -- ITelagen, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare IT support, services and products announce that they are enabling medical practices nationwide to increase revenues for non-face-to-face chronic care management services as per the CMS 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule; Fact sheets: Policy and payment changes to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2015. Steven Vickner, COO for ITelagen, says, “We will be working with existing clients and practices nationwide who want to capture these new funds and will be ensuring they are meeting the specified capabilities required to receive payment. Certified EHR Technology and Disaster Recovery will be our top priority with clients and new practices looking for assistance.”
In addition to securing written consent from the beneficiary and providing at least 20+ minutes of non-face-to-face care management services per calendar month, practices will be required to use a certified EHR, maintain an electronic care plan, ensure beneficiary access to the care, facilitate transitions of care and coordinate the care. On the EHR requirement, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) stated, “We continue to believe that it is necessary to require the use of EHR Technology that has been certified under the ONC Health IT Certification Program as requisite for receiving separate payment for CCM services, to ensure that practitioners have adequate capabilities to allow members of the interdisciplinary care team to have timely access to the most updated information informing the care plan.”
ITelagen places priority on the Certified EHR Technology and Disaster Recovery because once these requirements are met, everything else falls into place. More specifically, the CMS rule requires an “EHR that satisfies either the 2011 or 2014 edition of the certification criteria for the EHR Incentive Programs” to meet the core technology capabilities and 24/7 access to electronic health records and documentation. Getting practices to meet the 2011 or 2014 certification criteria has been the name of the game for the ITelagen team of Certified EHR Professionals the last few years. Working tirelessly to meet the meaningful use objectives now has another value. And the disaster recovery service is a safeguard to the 24/7 accessibility requirement - ITelagen services not only provide clients with the security of data meeting the HIPAA Security Rule, the Disaster Recovery Service guarantees resiliency and offers fast recovery of mission-critical systems. ITelagen will protect and recover client systems in a geo-redundant, top-tier, SSAE 16-compliant data center, which serves as the “warm site.”
