e-Spirit, Canto Partnership Brings Together Content and Digital Asset Management for Optimized Web Experiences

Lexington, MA (PRWEB) December 03, 2014 -- A picture says more than a thousand words. Websites can now be more quickly and conveniently enhanced with exciting images and videos thanks to a standard interface linking the FirstSpirit content management system (CMS) from e-Spirit and the Cumulus digital asset management (DAM) system from Canto. Website content managers and marketing editors now benefit from increased efficiency and user-friendliness when creating and maintaining their marketing channels. They can access – right from the CMS – the media content organized in the DAM and publish it directly on their various online and offline channels. Users retain an overview of all digital assets in the company, image licenses and copyrights while also benefiting from the editorial workflows and the usability of the CMS for flexibly publishing the media files. Creating websites, blogs, online stores, portals, social media and print products is optimized and developing a uniform customer experience is made easier.

FirstSpirit and Cumulus score high in usability

The seamless integration of both best-of-breed solutions makes it easier and faster for online editors to access the company's external media base, thus also enabling them to design more attractive and customer-friendly websites. Editors and managers no longer have to switch between the CMS and DAM or log into two systems. Top class user-friendliness is the focus of this integration. Online editors work exclusively in the CMS and use the convenient search and filter function for selecting media files from Cumulus – without any system interruption. Appealing images, graphics, presentations, PDFs, videos and other files can be comfortably integrated into websites via drag and drop, speeding up processes and boosting productivity.

Automation saves time

Because all digital assets are organized centrally and in an optimized Web format in Cumulus, integration additionally ensures that website managers have a consistent and current version of images, videos and documents at all times. For example, if the usage right for one image expires, it is immediately deactivated in the website or – depending on the instructions – is replaced by a different image. By linking to a corresponding asset in Cumulus, FirstSpirit ensures that the most current version of a file is always referenced. If the metadata or rights in Cumulus change, FirstSpirit also knows this and the website is automatically updated with no additional efforts needed. Possible duplicates, obsolete content or different versions on different websites are no longer a problem. Cumulus can also deliver the media files to other systems (PIM, catalog systems) and act as a central storage location of all media files of an organization.
