Christian Noyer and Kevin Warsh Join the Group of Thirty

The Group of Thirty announced today that Christian Noyer, Governor of the Banque de France, and Kevin Warsh, Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, have joined the membership of the Group.

The Group of Thirty (G30) announced today that Christian Noyer and Kevin Warsh have accepted invitations to join the membership of the G30. Christian Noyer is Governor of the Banque de France and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BIS, and Kevin Warsh is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.

Dr. Jacob A. Frenkel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, stated: "We are delighted to welcome Christian Noyer and Kevin Warsh to the Group. Governor Noyer brings to the Group a wealth of experience as a distinguished leader in the global central banking community and a persuasive voice on numerous monetary and global regulatory policy matters. Mr. Warsh, a former member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and a scholar and academic, brings with him deep knowledge of central banking and a thorough understanding of the functioning of global financial markets.” We look forward to their productive engagement with the Group.

Jean-Claude Trichet, Chairman and CEO of the G30, said: “I am extremely pleased to extend membership to Christian Noyer and Kevin Warsh. Their participation with the Group, through our events, work program, and meetings, is welcomed by all in the Group."

Mr. Trichet continued: “The effectiveness of the G30 depends fundamentally upon the diverse experiences and stature of the Group’s members. We expect the contributions of both Christian Noyer and Kevin Warsh to the policy deliberations of the G30 will be considerable."

Christian Noyer stated: “I am honored to join the Group of Thirty and I look forward to participating in meetings and supporting the ongoing work the program of the G30. It is a pleasure join such an illustrious membership.”

Kevin Warsh stated: “It is a privilege to join the Group of Thirty, especially at a time of such economic consequence. I look forward to participating in the robust discussions for which the Group is long known.”

The Group of Thirty was founded in 1978. The Group is a private, nonprofit, international body composed of senior participants from the private and public sectors and academia. The Group aims to deepen understanding of international economic and financial issues, to explore the international repercussions of decisions taken in the public and private sectors and to examine the choices available to market practitioners and to policymakers. The Group is led by Jacob A. Frenkel, Chairman of its Board of Trustees, and Jean-Claude Trichet, Chairman of the Group.
