"There's a perception that it's difficult to do business in Connecticut, but in fact, we hear all the time from our portfolio companies that it's a great place to start and grow a company,” said Claire Leonardi, CEO of Connecticut Innovations.
ROCKY HILL, Conn. (PRWEB) December 04, 2014
Connecticut Innovations (CI), the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut's innovative, growing companies, today announced the launch of a video that features some of its venture portfolio companies, and explores the benefits of living and doing business in Connecticut.
The video features three CEOs–Ellie Tandler of Madison-based NovaTract Surgical; Oni Chukwu of Norwalk-based etouches; and Andy Greenawalt of New Haven-based Continuity Control.
“There's a perception that it's difficult to do business in Connecticut, but in fact, we hear all the time from our portfolio companies that it's a great place to start and grow a company,” said Claire Leonardi, CEO of Connecticut Innovations. “Through this video, we set out to highlight the dynamic types of companies starting up in Connecticut; provide an understanding of why the state is an attractive place to do business; and share a four-minute comedic performance from our illustrious limo driver.”
With the introduction of the video, Connecticut Innovations also launched a social campaign that encourages people to test their knowledge of Connecticut inventions through an interactive quiz. Participants can enter for a chance to win a drone or other technology innovations.
“We wanted to entertain the audience, and we thought humor would be a great way to create a memorable asset,” said Amy Hourigan, vice president of marketing at Connecticut Innovations. “Scientists tell us that the average attention span of a human is now shorter than that of a goldfish, so we knew we had to make our story engaging. Our goal was to leave viewers with a better sense of the diversity of innovations in our portfolio and the amazing technologies that are being created in our state, all while putting a smile on their face.”
The video was directed and produced by Astor Place, a video, digital media and creative production agency in New London.
