Easton, PA (PRWEB) December 04, 2014 -- Northampton County was recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This accomplishment signifies outstanding achievement from Northampton County and its management.
Northampton County received this award on behalf of the submitted comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The county’s CAFR was evaluated against credentials that met high standards of the program. This included constructing a full disclosed report that to clearly communicate its financials and to motivate users to read the CAFR.
This is the County’s 34th consecutive year receiving this award. Twelve out of the 64 counties in Pennsylvania receive this award.
