Wellframe Announces The Formation of Wellframe Clinical Expert Panel, Bringing Together World-Renowned Clinicians and Health Scientists
Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 04, 2014 -- Wellframe, a Boston-based company that enables health plans and providers to better manage risk and amplify existing support resources, announced today that the organization has formed the Wellframe Clinical Expert Panel. The Clinical Expert Panel is comprised of some of the world’s leading clinicians and health scientists, who have come together to advance the organization’s mission of bringing evidence based care to every patient and organizing care-delivery around each patient’s needs using technology and data science. The members are all world experts and cover a broad spectrum of specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, social and behavioral medicine, maternal health and data science.
The Clinical Expert Panel will be working closely with the Wellframe Clinical Team to encode best practice and the highest standards of clinical decision making in computational systems that allows evidence based, personalized care to be delivered at national scale.

Daniel Forman MD is the Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and Chair of the Geriatric Cardiology Section at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Forman trained in geriatrics (Division on Aging, Harvard Medical School) and cardiology (Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School) before combining these interests in his current clinical and research pursuits. As a clinician, he is particularly oriented to risk stratification as well as exercise training for cardiovascular disease. His research is consistently oriented to functional assessment, particularly in elderly adults, and to related benefits of exercise training.
Ichiro Kawachi MB ChB Ph.D is the John L. Loeb and Frances Lehman Loeb Professor of Social Epidemiology, and Chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Kawachi received both his medical degree and Ph.D. (in epidemiology) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He has taught at the Harvard School of Public Health since 1992.
Prof Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran MD PhD MRCOG FRCS is currently president of the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology – (FIGO) the global body dedicated to improving the quality of life of women and newborns and Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St George’s University of London. He is also the former President of the British Medical Association (’13-’14). Dr. Arulkumaran has been in clinical practice for 37 years and in research and teaching for 25 years. His research and clinical interests are in understanding and improving the quality of life for women and newborn babies.
Toyin Ajayi MD MPhil is the Medical Director for Hospitalist Services and Transitions of Care at Commonwealth Care Alliance where she leads clinical inpatient services and care co-ordination. Prior to working at CCA, she was a Global Health Research Fellow at the Center for Global Health & Development and an Attending Physician in the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University Medical Center. She is a Director of the Welbodi Partnership, an organization that works alongside the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Sierra Leone to improve the quality of pediatric care at Ola During Children’s Hospital, the country’s only tertiary pediatric hospital. Dr. Ajayi is a graduate of Stanford University, the University of Cambridge, and King’s College London School of Medicine. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Her academic interests include applied research around interventions to improve the quality of care delivered to under-served populations, as well as maternal and child health service delivery in sub-Saharan Africa.
Nick Hare MSc is an economist and senior defense intelligence analyst. He has worked in various roles across the UK Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Office and the UK intelligence community for 15 years, most recently as the Head of the Defence Intelligence Futures and Analytical Methods Team within the UK Ministry of Defence. Mr. Hare founded Aleph Insights in 2014 where he is working with governments and businesses to improve the way analysis is used to inform decision-making. He works with Wellframe to apply this expertise to population health management and prognostication.
