CTA Construction recently finished building the $9.3 million town hall in Dracut, where is also recently renovated and expanded the high school.

Once located in three separate buildings, Dracut’s town departments now share a new Town Hall completed by CTA Construction. The 22,000-square-foot facility accommodates the departments previously housed in the old Town Hall, the Town Hall Annex, and the Sewer Department office.

The new building complies with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and includes administrative offices, selectmen’s meeting room, storage and a six-hour, fire-rated vault for vital records. The buildings clapboard siding and asphalt shingles blend Town Hall into the residential neighborhood.

“We are grateful to the Town of Dracut for giving us the opportunity to both construct the new Town Hall and renovate and expand Dracut High School. It has been a pleasure to work closely with town officials and residents in constructing two facilities that are now the pride of the community,” said Lyle Coghlin, Principal of CTA Construction, based in Waltham, Mass., and online at http://www.ctaconstruction.com.

The $9.3 million building, designed by architectural firm Johnson-Roberts Associates, replaces a facility built in 1890, which was torn down to make way for an town-center complex featuring the new town hall, the Moses Greeley Parker Library and the Grange Hall.

Last summer, CTA completed work on renovations and additions to Dracut High School, adding 83,000 square feet of classrooms, an auditorium, gymnasium and locker rooms to the existing 138,000 square foot facility.

CTA is a leading construction manager in the academic market, many of which are designed with sustainable elements and to meet the LEED for Schools standards. CTA Construction recently placed on a nationwide list of the Top 100 Green Building Contractors published by Engineering News-Record magazine. In addition to academic facilities, CTA’s portfolio includes office, municipal, commercial, public safety and residential buildings.
