MarketSphere Unclaimed Property Specialists, providers of advanced unclaimed property solutions, welcomed Heather Steffans as the company’s new manager of business development. Steffans is a respected senior unclaimed property business development professional with proven skills in needs analysis and strategic problem solving to help unclaimed property holders reduce the negative impact of escheatment and achieve best outcomes.

Steffans’ nearly two decades of experience spans multiple industries and product offerings. She is a specialist in communication and broadening relationships to deeply understand and meet client’s escheatment needs. Steffans is recognized in the abandoned and unclaimed property industry as a subject matter expert and thought leader, tradeshow expert, popular industry conference speaker and veteran webinar presenter.

Prior to joining MarketSphere, Steffans served as vice president of sales at Keane Unclaimed Property. For 16 years before that, she worked at StoneRiver, becoming a senior leader in the marketing of TRACKER® compliance software and unclaimed property consulting and outsourcing solutions.

“Tackling unclaimed property can be extremely challenging for some holders. My personal mission is to educate and help them comply, while minimizing negative effects on companies and staff,” Steffans said. “MarketSphere is known for this approach, and I’m thrilled to be a part of delivering exciting new strategies and tools to help holders achieve better outcomes.”

Steffans is a member of the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization (UPPO), and previously served on the UPPO Membership Committee and Service Provider Committee. She served as co-chair of Professional Development Committee, and in 2010 received the UPPO Presidential Award. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing from the University of Iowa.
