Starion Energy, Inc. Celebrates Holidays With Multiple Charity Efforts
Middlebury, CT (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Starion Energy, Inc. has just completed a food drive for the Middlebury, Connecticut Community Food Bank in addition to making a cash donation.
“It’s always nice to give something back to the community during the holidays,” said Duane Gereski, the company’s Director of Marketing. “The Middlebury, Connecticut Community Food Bank is a great local chapter that helps underprivileged families receive a proper Thanksgiving meal.”
Employees at the company’s headquarters in Middlebury collected food items, including canned soup, stuffing, pasta, and fruits and vegetables, between Nov. 10 and Nov. 21, then presented them to the Food Bank along with $500 in cash.
“It was wonderful to have the company come together to donate to such a wonderful cause,” said Gereski. “Everyone here just thought that any little thing that we could do to help was worth it.”
Starion Energy, Inc. isn’t finished with charitable activities for the holiday season, however.
The company also kicked off a Toys for Tots drive Nov. 25. The Toys for Tots Foundation is a charity to which individuals can donate new, still-packaged toys that will be distributed to children and families in need.
“Every year we ask ourselves, ‘What can we do to help kids and put a smile on their faces this time of year?’ And we thought the Toys for Tots drive would be a wonderful idea,” Gereski shared. The drive will run through Dec. 16.
This is not the first time Starion Energy, Inc. has donated to Toys for Tots, according to Gereski. The company hopes to continue this giving tradition every year.
Starion Energy, Inc. is an alternative electricity and gas supplier in nine states and the District of Columbia. Energy deregulation allows homeowners to choose their suppliers and rates.
Gereski said that both the owners and the employees of the company wanted to show Middlebury residents that they intend to be a positive local resource in many ways, both professional and charitable.
“We wanted to do this to help others because we’re new to the town, and we wanted everyone to know that we’re here and always willing to help those in need,” he concluded.
