Roadtrip Nation Participates in annual Big Ideas Fest, Empowering San Francisco Students to Define Their Own Roads in Life
Costa Mesa, California (PRWEB) December 08, 2014 -- Roadtrip Nation, a career exploration organization based in Southern California, is participating in the annual Big Ideas Fest in Half Moon Bay, California. The purpose of the gathering is to promote the collaboration of change-makers in the education sphere. The three-day immersion, which kicked off on Sunday and continues until Wednesday the 10th, hosts a wide range of prominent speakers and recognizes organizations focused on social impact. This is Roadtrip Nation’s fifth year participating in the conference, with the consistent tradition of facilitating Roadtrip Nation style interviews for the students of South San Francisco High School.
“We are excited to empower eight Avid/Roadtrip Nation students of South San Francisco High School with the ability to define their own roads in life through the rich environment of innovation and inspiration available at the Big Ideas Fest,” said Director of Education, Annie Mais.
Last year the students interviewed a wide range of leaders and speakers at the conference including co-founder of the Malala Fund, Shiza Shahid, and Poet Slam Leader, Taylor Mali. Each year the students ask the featured leaders Roadtrip Nation style questions that help guide their future professional endeavors.
This year, the footage and interviews conducted by the students will be produced into a culminating video special, screened on Wednesday from 9 – 9:30 am, the last day of the Big Ideas Fest, sharing the experience and inspiration with all the attending leaders and organizations.
In addition to the encouragement and insight gained through the interview experience, the students will also participate in design thinking workshops known as Collabs, taught by the team of IDEO.
