MRB Catering Treats Arts ‘n Autism to a Catered Holiday Meal Donation
(PRWEB) December 08, 2014 -- With a goal to give back to the Tuscaloosa community, Marlon Boyd of MRB Catering will treat the teachers and caregivers of Tuscaloosa nonprofit, Arts ‘n Autism, to a Holiday dinner donation. The “Down Home Country” styled dinner will take place on December 18, at the home of Arts ‘n Autism’s Executive Program Director, Jan Sikes.
Boyd first learned about Arts ‘n Autism through a friend whose son participates in the after school program. The Arts ‘n Autism website (http://www.artsnautism.org) and Facebook page highlight the program, the children, and their families. MRB Catering proposed the idea of the donated catered meal to honor the caregivers in the spirit of the 2014 holiday season.
After meeting with Sikes at Arts ‘n Autism’s facility on 8th Street in downtown Tuscaloosa, Boyd confirmed that his idea was the right thing to do. He was thoroughly impressed with the facility, the friendly staff, and the commitment to provide resources for children and families affected by autism in West Alabama.
The dinner will feature several of Boyd’s signature dishes along with vegetarian options. The staff will be treated with herbal grilled chicken breast, green beans and scalloped potatoes. Desserts include sweet potato pie and peach cobbler.
“I’ve seen the smiles on the faces of the children that are helped by Arts ‘n Autism, so it’s my goal to put a smile on the faces of the teachers and staff through my food,” said Boyd.
