Advanced Discovery Vice President Elected to Women in eDiscovery DC Chapter Board of Directors
Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Candace Smyth, vice president of sales for Advanced Discovery, a national eDiscovery services provider, has been elected to the board of directors for the Washington, DC chapter of Women in eDiscovery (WiE). Candace is fairly new to the group, joining in February 2014 after she joined Advanced Discovery to assist with the expansion of the company’s DC practice. This November, Advanced Discovery was awarded by Legal Times for Best of Managed Document Review in Washington, DC. The company also acquired Responsive Data Solutions of Washington, DC, a well-respected provider with a technologically advanced data center, in September 2014 as part of its DC services expansion.
WiE is comprised of professionals within the legal industry, including attorneys, litigation support professionals, paralegals, legal IT staff, court reporters, consultants, recruiters and employees from eDiscovery service providers. The group offers networking and leadership opportunities, promotes personal and professional growth, supports a mentoring network and makes charitable contributions to its communities. Its main focus is education. Since its inception in 2007, WiE has grown globally to over 5,000 members with more than 30 chapters.
In response to an inquiry about goals for her new position with the DC chapter, Candace said, “I’d like to help further improve communication by providing more information for members, especially for those who are unable to attend particular meetings. I think this will also help to encourage less active members to get involved again.” Candace also hopes to continue the pro bono efforts and opportunities of the group and to help the board continue the informative panels and practice support content each month.” Finally, Candace says she is looking forward to the social activities. “We have a great group of warm and collegial women. I want to get to know all of them better.”
