Major Healthcare Organization Selects OM Plus Print Software
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) December 10, 2014 -- After a highly competitive selection process, a large healthcare organization located in U.S. north-west has selected print software developed by Plus Technologies to be its standard enterprise output management (EOM) solution. The Plus Technologies print software is called OM Plus Delivery Manager. In the evaluation process, OM Plus was selected over many competitors including HP and LRS. This is the second major healthcare organization selecting OM Plus in as many months and comes on top of several other Plus Technologies print software installations in the Epic EMR environment.
The Plus Technologies software will help healthcare organizations streamline operations by seamlessly integrating into their back-end Epic EMR systems, automating queue creation, consolidating print servers, providing ‘pull printing” capabilities, capturing detailed print statistics for process optimization, reducing cost via tamper resistant prescription printing on plain paper, and reducing help desk workload through the provision of robust trouble-shooting tools.
OM Plus Delivery Manager print spooling software will be used to streamline a complex Epic EMR queue management environment with approximately 5,000 multi-vendor print devices that span multiple locations. Delivery Manager also confirms delivery of print jobs to the printer trays, reduces the number of queues to be managed, provides print driver independence, and improves help desk performance.
To reduce cost and improve the performance of prescription printing, the customer will utilize OM Plus TRP, tamper resistant printing which enables Rx printing on plain paper instead of expensive pre-printed forms and specialty printers with expensive locking trays. This provides a significant cost savings and improves prescription printing operations.
The customer will also be implementing Plus Technologies’ My-Print-Delivery for pull-print (sometimes called “follow-the-user” type printing). Documents will be held in the OM Plus print system until the user releases the document while physically at the printer or multifunction device itself. Users are authenticated via My-Print-Delivery and only see their jobs. The implementation of the My-Print-Delivery capabilities will reduce print volume, improve security, and enhance print mobility.
Lastly, this customer required a solution to gather and track print statistics. OM Plus Stats Manager is used to analyze and understand the who, what, when, and where of printing, copying, faxing, and scanning in their enterprise.
