Leading analyst firm features DataHero in recent report as viable option for data analysis, as enterprises shift toward cloud-based tools

DataHero, the self-service cloud data visualization tool, today released a report by independent analyst firm, Ovum discussing why the enterprise community should select DataHero for their data analysis needs. With the use of cloud applications growing rapidly, DataHero is meeting a well-recognized demand for ad hoc data analysis. According to Ovum’s report, On the Radar: DataHero, the DataHero technology “can and will, for some user types, represent an elegant solution to historically unmet demand.”

“Data analysis is a difficult problem to solve in organizations that require individuals and teams to make sense of their data without formal training,” said DataHero CEO and Co-founder, Chris Neumann. “The number of cloud-based tools being used by enterprises continues to grow, so it was imperative we build a product that connects all these disparate pieces and makes them easy to understand.”

The report identifies three major trends that have created a market for DataHero: a focus on regular, non-expert users who could benefit from data analysis in their day-to-day job; the importance of ease of use for the audience; and the growing use of cloud applications. Additionally, Ovum recognizes that DataHero has correctly predicted the next shift, the user-interface, and has worked to emphasize it in its offering.

According to the report, the cloud is here to stay and moving analysis there (rather than moving the data on-premises) is a logical move. Marketing, sales operations and product development should have the highest interest in DataHero and similar tools, as they typically use cloud-based tools most frequently. DataHero is deployed natively in the cloud and its technology delivers capabilities to users in a way that reflects what is expected from this new breed of analytics vendor.

“There are two primary reasons to put DataHero on your radar,” said On The Radar author and Practice Leader, Tom Pringle. “First, enterprises looking to provide easy-to-use access to data analysis tools for users working with cloud-based data should be exploring the capabilities of vendors like DataHero. Second, for enterprise IT executives who are attempting to manage the viral growth of point solutions which are circumventing IT procurement and data-related policies, being aware of the benefits and drawbacks associated with their adoption is essential.”
