GiftCards.com Announces Second Annual "You Gift. We Gift." Tour Benefitting Needy Children This Holiday Season
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 10, 2014 -- GiftCards.com, the online leader of gift cards, today announces the second annual "You Gift. We Gift." tour. The tour's mission is to visit several key cities and give nominated needy children (anonymous to the child) a free $50 gift card during this holiday season that will be personally hand delivered by GiftCards.com CEO and Founder Jason Wolfe.
To be considered for the $50 gift card, the public is encouraged to nominate a disadvantaged and needy child from their community this holiday season via the "You Gift. We Gift." nomination online form. Select recipients will have their story featured on the "You Gift. We Gift." home page. To date, more than $10,000 in free gift card value will be given to needy children across the country.
Providing for children during the season is a topic near and dear to Jason’s heart. Growing up, Wolfe had a financially difficult childhood, living in a family that needed government assistance to survive. He eventually wound up in the Milton Hershey school where he lived with over 1,000 other poor and disadvantaged children. The goal of the "You Gift. We Gift." tour is to provide a special moment for children who might not dare hope for a tree or a candle, let alone presents to appear beneath either.
The "You Gift. We Gift." tour begins on December 17th in Pittsburgh, PA and will conclude on Dec 20th in Tampa, FL. Along the way, Wolfe and the "You Gift. We Gift." team will travel, via an orange decorated RV with the "You Gift. We Gift." branding and messaging wrapped around the vehicle, and hand out gift cards from GiftCards.com. Wolfe will ask for the communities in and around the cities listed to tell him the story of a child that needs a gift. Wolfe will then personally spend time with the children and their families and drop off a $50 gift card before departing.
“As a child you are very aware when there isn’t enough money to buy Christmas or Hanukkah presents. You end up not hoping or expecting gifts,” said Wolfe. “One Christmas morning, a stranger left a box full of gifts and a frozen turkey on our doorstep. It was a beacon of light I will never forget. I promised myself long ago that I would be that person for other children. I am now in this position and look forward to bringing some smiles to children that are in need. It’s my duty to show children that their situation isn’t a permanent one and that one day they too will be able to pay it forward.”
